🌿Did You Know That Our OAC Path Is a Birding Hotspot?

A visiting birder recently explored our section of the Old Ausable Channel (OAC) Path and submitted their findings to eBird — a global platform that tracks bird sightings.

Even more exciting, several of our own members have also been contributing sightings from the OAC, helping build a growing record of the birds that call this area home.

Why does this matter?
Because every recorded sighting helps scientists and conservationists better understand bird populations and habitat health. The OAC is known for its rich biodiversity, with numerous bird species using the channel and surrounding forests as nesting and migration habitat.

What This Means for Our Community
Our walking trails and natural spaces aren’t just beautiful — they’re valuable habitat. The fact that birders are choosing to explore our OAC Path highlights how special this area truly is.
