The Environmental Stewardship Committee Update – Aug. 21, 2026

As summer begins to wind down, the Environmental Stewardship Committee is planning a Beach Clean-Up on Saturday, September 12 to help leave our beaches looking their best as we head into fall.

This clean-up will focus on the smaller items that can easily be overlooked during the busy summer months, including plastics, cigarette filters, balloon ties and toys that may have been left behind now that the kids are back at school. Usable toys will be returned to the storage bin at Sun Beach for others to enjoy.

The clean-up will take place from 10:00–11:30 a.m., with collection points at both the Sun Beach and Maple Lane Beach entrances. Volunteers are asked to bring gloves and a personal collection bag. There will be no need for wheelbarrows, as the focus is on smaller shoreline debris rather than driftwood, logs or fallen trees.
