Environmental Stewardship Committee Update – April 3, 2026

We are pleased to welcome Carolyn Young as a new member of our committee. Carolyn brings a wealth of knowledge and experience which will contribute to our ability to preserve and protect Southcott Pines natural environment.

Thank you to the members who reported seeing dead fish in the Old Ausable Channel. The Conservation Authority and associates have reviewed the situation and there are no endangered fish species amongst those recovered. The cause is likely due to the combination of low oxygen levels and thickness of the ice this winter. Our committee continues to work with ABCA and U of T research team as they strive to improve the health of the Old Ausable Channel. Further updates will be provided as they become available.
