Board of Directors Update – May 1, 2026
At its April 20th meeting, the SPPA Board unanimously approved the 2026/27 budget and continued preparations for the May 9th Town Hall, where Members will have an opportunity to hear more about the budget, ask questions, and provide input on priorities for planned Member Experience capital spending. The Board also reviewed progress on the new beach pass system, which will support both physical and electronic passes and will be demonstrated at the Town Hall as part of the broader rollout for the upcoming beach season. Planning is also underway for the return of Beach Ambassadors, with both returning and new staff expected to support Sun Beach operations this summer.
The Board also discussed several community-focused initiatives, including a proposed volunteer appreciation event following the May 9th Town Hall, the May 2nd beach cleanup, and a community garage sale in the spring, with enough notice to encourage strong participation. The Board supported further development of memorial project ideas that contribute to enhancing Member Experience. In addition, the Board agreed that long-term renters may be considered for committee participation on a case-by-case basis, with Board approval, as part of SPPA’s ongoing effort to welcome engaged residents who want to contribute to community life.
