Beach Committee Update – April 3, 2026
Introducing Our New Beach Ambassador Program – This summer marks an important change at our Beaches and Beach Laneways. Beginning with the May long weekend, SPPA will introduce a new Beach Ambassador Program, replacing the security model used in past years.
With a focus on Sun Beach, Beach Ambassadors will be tasked with creating a welcoming, respectful, and well-managed beach experience for residents and their guests. Rather than a traditional security presence, Ambassadors will serve as a visible point of support on the beach. They will greet members, answer questions, reinforce beach guidelines, and help ensure Sun Beach remains enjoyable, fair, and safe for everyone.
In addition, Beach Ambassadors will assist members and their guests at SPPA-owned beach access paths (Maple, Cherry, Pine, Spruce, Cedar, Juniper) on a random basis to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all authorized users
This shift reflects a broader commitment to member experience, stewardship, and community pride. It also allows us to better align beach operations with how our beach-related assets are actually used today, while supporting consistent access, clearer expectations, and a more positive day-to-day presence on the beach.
As part of this transition, the Board and Beach Committee are also exploring thoughtful enhancements that will further support the Ambassador role and help us steward these shared assets well into the future. We look forward to sharing more as the season unfolds.
